The Release is a digital literary magazine that empowers its audience of readers and writers to discover their voice and release their worries through words.
Our magazine serves as a platform for various forms of creative writing – from personal essays to short stories to poetry. The message is simple: A story that’s therapeutic for the writer can also be inspirational to the reader.
Remember: Your release is someone else’s relief.
About the Founder
After Crissinda’s personal essay, “My Father’s Absence,” was published in the 2010 national anthology, Souls of My Young Sisters, she received overwhelming support from young women who related to her story and found power in her prose.
She realized the significance of self-expression through creative writing, not only for writers but for readers, and wanted to give a voice to those who put pen to paper to navigate their emotions. This realization led to what is now known as The Release.
We hope you enjoy the work of our gifted writers. Happy reading!
